Apparently, I have a finite amount of brain space, and adding Clair to the Davis household pushed me over the edge.
So in order to make room for her, the space that used to belong to remembering things now belongs to her. In God's infinite wisdom, He thought it might be a bad idea if I didn't remember my newborn child. I would have to agree.
This means I am afflicted with a severe case of CRS. Because this is a family blog, I won't explain what the acronym really stands for. Let's just say it means "can't remember stuff."
Since my Clairzeepoopoo has been born, I can no longer keep up with anything.
My cell phone has been the greatest casualty. It gets left in the car or left at home, constantly. Or if I have it, I've forgotten to charge it. Last weekend, I left it at my Mom's, an hour's drive away. Lovely.
I also forgot the cleaning lady was coming last week, so my house is going to be a mess for another month. (Why don't I just clean it myself, you ask? HA!!)
I scheduled two work meetings for 10 a.m. yesterday. Thankfully, one was a group conference call, so my absence was only moderately noted.
This morning, I sent a note to a friend who was organizing a going-away lunch for a former Sun co-worker. My note said, "If it's not too late to RSVP, I'd like to come to Hanah's lunch today! Is it at 12? Or 12:30? (Because of course, I couldn't remember.)" She wrote back, saying: "The lunch was yesterday. :-) "
Sigh.
My hormones are starting to normalize, I think, since my hair is falling out and Aunt Flo seems to be trying, very weakly, to show up (Just do it, already, Aunt Flo! Jeeez!) So maybe when all things are back to the way they used to be, I'll be able to find some brain space again.
See? I posted this picture without remembering that I JUST said this was a family blog and so I shouldn't say certain words. Oh well. It's out there now.
I need a nap.
