Living Will

In preparation for our trip to West Palm Beach in just FOUR DAYS (whoo-hoo!) Lester and I sat down tonight and did something we should have done a long time ago: We wrote down our wishes for Cary and Dean (and our assets, etc.) should something happen to both of us (say, a plane crash or something).

This is a morbid topic and one most people don't ever want to talk about, but we honestly feel like it's our responsibility to lay it all out in black and white, so that our boys are taken care of as best as possible if we should both die. It was a tough conversation, but we made it all the way through it without (too many) arguments. :-) That's because we did this out of LOVE for our boys, and each other. So many tough things can be made easier if we do them with love, yes?

We're calling this a Living Will and Trust, although truthfully neither one of us is a lawyer or even close. But we figure, once we get it notarized this week, it'll be as close as we can get to an official legal document without paying a gazillion dollars to an attorney. And we don't have time for that even if we had a gazillion dollars, because (have I mentioned already?) we're going to West Palm Beach -- sans babies -- in four days!

Whoo-hooo!

Now, all that being said, I feel the need for a prayer:

Father God, protect us on this trip please, and all our future days, so that this document we created will never, ever be necessary. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Midnight?! Yikes -- I'm off to bed.
