Clair had her 6-month checkup yesterday.
Lester took her because I had a board meeting, so I don't have all the stats in front of me.
But I remember that she weighs 17 lbs. 9 oz., and her length was like 28 inches or something. The doctor says she's about average for weight, but tall for her age.
How my child is tall, I have no idea, since I am 5-foot-nothin'. But I hope she stays that way. Being petite is not a bad thing. Petite, to me, is 5'4''. My height is just short. And being short kinda sucks.
Just the other day I had to use a butter knife to pull the coffee off the shelf in the office kitchen because my boss insists on putting it on the top shelf, no matter that I've told him I can't reach it up there. And when the stockpile of towels gets low in our bathroom closet, leaving the only clean ones waaaay in the back of a high shelf, I either have to scrounge around for one of the boys' stepstools to get myself a towel, or dry off after a shower with a hand towel. It's actually quite doable to dry off with a hand towel, I've found, but much less efficient.
Needless to say, I want Clair-as-an-adult to not have to stand around shivering while toweling off with a 16' X 30' swath of fabric.
It's the little things, people.

It is SO NICE living with a 6'4" man. That is why I hope my shrimpies get some of those genes!!
Hey! I'm 5'2.5" (do NOT deny me that half inch!), and I was very happy the day I figured out that I could call myself "petite" rather than just "short." You, woman, are petite! Dammit.
Well according to your numbers I would be petite... that is if you are just measuring me up and down... if we factor in width I likely wouldn't qualify, but anyway. Even for us petite women if you live with a man 6+ feet tall you still have to use the kiddos step stools. At least that is the way it often plays out in my house.
