I watched this and cried just a little, because I was thinking about so many of my gorgeous friends and family members who are constantly nitpicking themselves to death. And then I thought about how I do that, too. All the time. Especially since having three babies in two years -- all I seem to be able to see in myself are flaws.
I still look pregnant.
My arms are flabby.
My hair is stringy.
My eyebrows need doing.
My clothes don't fit.
My face is shiny.
But this reminds me that we are all our worst beauty critics. And that I should be kind to myself. Not just accepting of my looks and body, but appreciative of them.
I need to do a better job of loving me.
Especially if I want my own daughter to do the same when the time comes that she starts to doubt that she is, in fact, beautiful, healthy and perfect just the way she is.
